SPACERS AND CEMENT

These bone cements are available with and without antibiotics, and come in a variety of viscosities, including some whose viscosity levels can be individually adjusted. The antibiotics they contain are effective against up to 90% of all pathogens, and also serve to prevent infections. Along with manually mixable cements, the all-in-one Cemex® System, offers the possibility to mix cements under air-tight conditions for preventing the escape of fumes or odours during mixing.
Pre-finished, anatomically designed spacers containing Gentamicin and/or Vancomycin can help with systematic infection rehabilitation in hip, knee, or shoulder. Resterilisable trial implants allow intraoperative sizing.
